This may be my favorite reaction on UA-cam. This has recently become my favorite Sleep Token track. My musical tastes have evolved over the years. Regressed at times. But then suddenly there's a band that just kicks your ass. There's Tool. There's R.E.M. There is The Cure. And now...the culmination. There is Sleep Token.

Oh holy hell, that was amazing. Thanks for introducing me to these -exceptionally- talented musicians! That chorus though... the instrumentation under it makes it effing soar. Love it.

This is one of the first songs that made me fall in love with them in the 90's. Most likely that is why I prefer the first version. It brings back the memories of that decade. Another band I loved was After forever. But After forever changed when Mark left and created Epica. It was such a great time in seeing those great musicians grow up and give us so much.

I'm so happy that my first nightwish song was with Floor. If it would have been Tarja I would probably have stopped after one song. I just can't get used to her voice.

I think it's fine to have favourite vocalists, and even more fine to have favourite vocalists for particular songs, the only problem is when it becomes a competition or if you mistake personal taste for objectivity. Floor is generally my favourite and I realise that is at least partly because she was my first, however there are songs (and even passages) where I prefer Tarja or Anette. I enjoy them all!

In answer to the question you had they were first around like 20 plus years ago but went on indefinite hiatus which lasted a good 15+ years...... then all of a sudden dropped this. Utterly immense way to announce your return eh 😂

Sunk loto were fairly well known in the Australian metal scene in the late 90s early 00s when nu metal was massive. They have only recently reformed in the last year or so which has been sick for some of us oldies.

Yup! If he hits a "bad" note, he just turns it into a lovely improvisation! Perhaps it will help you to know that Dimash has spent over 20 years getting to be this good. It took daily work and study on his part. He is a hard worker who realizes all that. he's been given. He says that when God gives someone so much, it's a test to see what sort of human being they will be with it. Will they become arrogant or will they stay humble and remember the people who have helped them to become who they are? If someone had to get "everything" at least it went to someone who has the right outlook on it. By the way, I think you could totally pull off wearing that costume that Dimash wears in this performance. 🇨🇦

Although I am a huge fan of Floor (already since 2002 in het After Forever days) this young Tarja sounded magnificent. Clearer and using more straight tones than in her later years. This was great, both versions are great. You can really hear Nightwish (and recording techniques for that matter) have matured over 2 decades. Great song, great composition and great reaction. More Nightwish please Chase!

If you want the guitar equivalent of this guy in terms of skill and intricacy, I recommend Ichika Nito. In particular I think his song Awakening would not disappoint you

I mean sometimes I’m in the mood for Floor era Nightwish, sometimes for Tarja, sometimes for Anette. Not just for the different singer but I different feeling from each of the albums from these different times of the band and my life it was part of. I probably do listen to floor the most, but definitely the urge is stronger when I do feel like some Wishmaster or Angels Fall First 🫣
